Laidback Luke’s “Funkadelic” is a must-listen for 2018
The second-to-last track from Laidaway Luke’s new album, Funkadelic, has some of the best hip-hop beats of the year, and it comes courtesy of fellow Queens native and hip-hopper Lioce.
The title track from Funkadeli, the sophomore effort from Lioe, is the most danceable track of the album.
It features some of Lioehs best hooks, including a catchy chorus about how he likes to “smell like the smell of the club” and how he thinks it “smells like a girl’s body.”
The hook is a perfect way to end the album, and you can even hear Lioee’s voice throughout the song.
Lioe has made a name for himself in the music industry with his distinctive voice, but he’s also an accomplished rapper.
His song “Treat Me Like Your Daddy” (featuring Young Thug) was the highest-charting hip-Hop track of 2017, and he has been nominated for several Grammy Awards.
Liam Gallagher, who produced Funkadelica, told Next Big Futures that he was thrilled to hear the track in the album’s entirety.
Lieta Saldana, who sings the hook on “Folklore,” is one of Liolae’s biggest fans, and the duo recently collaborated on a song called “Festival” that’s currently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
